Ta’Om, Cambodia Mission, 7–13 Dec 2025 Registration (WAITLIST)

Mission size: 45 participants

Join us for a meaningful Advent experience where you will work with a small team to serve the villagers and children in Ta’Om.

Ta’Om is 60km South West of Siem Reap, the capital of Cambodia, falling under the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang. We have been invited to work with the poor and needy in the field of education and health together with the priests who work to look after the spiritual and day-to-day needs of the area's residents.

Over the last few years, we have been supporting Ta'Om even through the pandemic. Through constant contact with locals, we have supported their needs and seen how the area has flourished over the years. To continue giving them our support and aid, we welcome you to join us for our mission.

We are looking for those who are general practitioners, pharmacists and even medical students. As for our education activities, we need participants who love teaching and spending quality time with children.

Please note that we will be staying at Siem Reap and travelling to and from Taom each day as there are no hotel facilities in Taom. 

Estimated cost (SGD): 
1. Mission Fee: $370 (includes transport and most meals) 
2. 6 nights of hotel $350–$390 (depending on rooming status)
3. Airfare to Siem Reap is around $580 *
* As of writing, only SIA flies directly from Singapore to Siem Reap.

Participants of all ages are welcome. Families with participants aged 10–15 must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Application closes on 22 June 2025. You will need to attend a Mission Awareness session to understand details about the mission outreach and what is expected from you. Participants who are still interested will be required to attend at least 3 further preparation sessions & some sub-team planning meetings.

Youths below 15 years old must be accompanied by their parent for the mission.

Youths below 19 years old must be accompanied by an Adult / Guardian for the mission.

A guardianship responsibility is extended to no more than 2 minors not of kin.

MISSION OVERVIEW

AIRFARE
Participants are responsible for purchasing their own flight tickets and travel insurance (this is mandatory).

ACCOMMODATION
Hotel reservations will be arranged for participants and all room and miscellaneous charges incurred will be settled by participants upon check out on the last day.
Roommate must be either siblings/parent-child or of the same gender, if unrelated.

COST

Mission fee for Taom is SGD 370 per person. This amount is used to help defray costs incurred for Cambodia airport transfers to and from hotel, all meals, daily water supply, local coach transfers and any expenses that may arise during mission week.   It does not include airfare, hotel accommodation for the week and any personal expenses. Any balance from the total fees collected will be put back into the ACTS Central Mission Fund for use the following year.  There will be no refunds of Mission Fees except on medical grounds or by appeal due to exceptional circumstances.

PRE MISSION COMMITMENT
In preparation for a meaningful outreach experience, you will need to attend 4 Pre-Mission sessions. In particular, participants will not be confirmed for the mission until after they attend the Mission Awareness session on 27 July 2025. Please do not book travel until you have been officially confirmed for the mission.

Ensure you have spare luggage space to help carry up items for the mission

All participants must arrive on/before 7 Dec and depart only on/after 13 Dec.
